Door won't quit or timeout when telnet users disconnect.
The information in this article applies to:
All John Dailey Software BBS doors
Symptoms:
When a telnet connection is terminated, the door program still thinks the user is connected and sits, waiting for input.
More Information/Solution:
To our knowledge, this is not a bug in the door software, and therefore, there is no fix or adjustment to rememdy this inconvenience within the individual products configuration.
The telnet gateway (i.e. Netmodem, ComIP, etc.) MUST simulate a lost carrier and NOT keep the connection alive (by sending data to the door on a regular basis for example) in order for the door to exit properly on user disconnect.
